Xiaomi confirms the launch of the Mi Band 5
For quite sometime now, the Mi band 5 which is the next generation Xiaomi wearable fitness tracker has been in the news a lot. There have been a whole lot of speculations on what to expect from the device.
Now, Xiaomi has just confirmed the launch date of the Mi band 5 via a post on its weibo account. According to a post by Gizchina, Xioami has announced via its Mall WeChat account that the Mi band 5 will be launched on June 11. The launch will take place in China, and the sales will start on June 18.
There is no date on when the device will be available for the international market, but it shouldn't take long after the China launch.
We already know that the Mi band 5 will be a major improvement and upgrade over the current Mi band 4. It is expected to come with a larger 1.2-inch OLED display compared to the 0.95-inch on its predecessor.
Other improvements include the integration with Amazon's Alexa, SpO2 sensor, remote camera controller, NFC and Google Pay support. As for the pricing, it is rumoured to start around 200 yuan (US$28) in China and around US$30 for the global market.
