Google Camera (GCAM) 8.4 App for Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco and Android phones by Blaze

 Google Camera popularly known as GCAM is the official camera App of the Google Pixel lineups of smartphone. Aside from the great camera hardware lens used in pixel phones, the GCam App is also partly credited for the great picture quality of photos taken with the pixel phone. 


The GCAM app uses advanced Google algorithm to further process your already taken shots to give you a better result and all this is done offline. Although the GCAM app is originally available for the pixel smartphones, the modded versions are available and they work on all other phones. 

In this post, I will be sharing one of the latest modded versions of the GCam app by a popular developer known as Blaze. This particular modded version of GCAM is compatible with android phones powered by both Snapdragon and mediatek chipset. It also allows you to manually tweak the settings and even import already modified config files. 



CHANGE LOGS:

  • Added Uwide lens.
  • Color tones are fine tuned for better human shots.
  • Hex is enabled for tone and gama curve.
  • Fine adjustments made to all lenses for improved details.


NOTES:

  • Focus tracking is enabled. Touch the screen before taking pics to avoid focus issue.
  • Hdr++ is enabled by default. Switch to Hdrnet for shooting moving objects.
  • Enable RES for High-res pics.
  • Use PRO mode for saturated and sharper pics.
  • Enable Exposure-Compensation from viewfinder for brighter shots.


AVAILABLE MODES:

  • Light: Bright mode for outdoor scenes.Shadows are light and light is more brighter.
  • Dark: Mode suitable for taking darker photos. Shadows are deep and light is less bright.
  • Human: Mode specially for taking photos of people. Colors are adjusted for natural skin tone.
  • UWide: Ultra Wide lens configured for wide photos. Lens id may differ from device to device.
  • Night: Night mode for lovers of night photography. Suitable for indoor and outdoor  night shots. For low light, enable 'night sight'.

HOW TO IMPORT XML CONFIG FILES:

  • After installing the GCAM App, open it and grant it all the requested permissions. 
  • Open your file manage, Copy and paste your xml file inside the Lmc8.4 folder. 
  • Open the camera App and double tap the black area near the photo button.
  •  Tap import and import your XML file.
  • That's all.

 


Note:

  • Some devices may need changing lens id for the xml config files to work.
  • If Ultra Wide crashes, you may need to change interface or lens id or both to make it work.
  • Before taking pics, touch the object for better focus.
  • Use exposure compensation for brighter pics, this is very useful in low light scene.
  • It is recommended to use Hdr+enhanced for low light condition. This is in other to get a good quality image with less noise.
  • Taking MACRO shots using Main lens
    • Enable manual focus. 
    • keep focus slider to max.
    • keep 2x zoom
    •  Focus manually by moving hands back and forth
    •  Click photo button and keep hands steady until hdr processing finished.
