Xiaomi to start manufacturing smartphones in Pakistan
Realme recently launched a new smartphone manufacturing plant in Lahore Pakistan and the move was very successful as it made it possible for the company to reduce price on its smartphone model (C21) in Pakistan where it is being manufactured.
Now, Xiaomi has decided to also follow in that foot step by recently introducing its plan to build a new manufacturing plant in Pakistan. The new plant will focus on manufacturing of smartphones and other Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) products in Pakistan and neighboring countries.
The Xiaomi's new plant in Pakistan is expected to be ready in 3 to 4 months time. Pakistan has over 40 million smartphone users in the world, putting it in the 7th largest importer of mobile phones globally. Building a manufacturing plant their will help Xiaomi reach more customers locally and also offer its smartphones at a more affordable rate.
It is worth noting that Xiaomi is currently the second smartphone manufacturer in the world, just behind Samsung. The company recently overtook Apple to land its second place position.
