How to Flash / Install MIUI 11 Update on all Xiaomi and Redmi Smartphones (Download Link)

The MIUI 11 is the latest iteration of Xiaomi's customized fashion of Android with added features as well as functionalities. The new MIUI 11 packs a whole lot of major improvements and new features like, system-wide dark mode, Mi share App, office suite, new User interface and many more.
Xiaomi has already pushing out the Indian, Europe, China, Russia and the Global stable MIUI 11 to all of its eligible Xiaomi smartphones. Even though many people have been able to update to the latest MIUI 11, there are still some people who are yet to receive the update.

In this post, I will explain how to manually check if the OTA update is available for your phone. I will also explain in details how to manually upgrade your phone to the latest MIUI 11 either through OTA or Recovery Mode. Just follow the detailed instructions below and you should be good to go.

Before you go ahead and manually try to upgrade your phone to the new MIUI 11, it is advisable to first of all check if the OTA update has already arrived for your phone by following the procedure below.

How to Manually check for MIUI 11 OTA update on your Redmi or Xiaomi Phone
  • Go to settings.
  • Tap on About phone >> System update.

  • click on Check for updates.
  • If you get No update available, then try the second or third method below.

How to manually Update Redmi and Xiaomi Phones to MIUI 11 through OTA 
Requirements:
>> Xiaomi MIUI 11 OTA ROM: Download HERE.
  • Download the MIUI 11 OTA zip file for your Xiaomi smartphone from the link above.
  • Copy the OTA file to your phone’s internal storage.
  • Go to your phone Settings >> About Phone >> System Update.

  • Tap the MIUI logo for 10 times continuously.

  • Click on the three vertical dots on the top right corner to open the menu and select “Choose Update Package”.

  • Your file manager will then open, locate the ROM zip file you downloaded and select it.
  • Tap on reboot to apply the MIUI 11 update on your Xiaomi Phone.
  • Your phone will then reboot and the update process will start automatically.


How to manually Update Xiaomi phone to MIUI 11 through Recovery
If for some reasons the OTA update method doesn't work for you, then you can try out the Recovery method.
If you still have the stock recovery on your phone then try out the first method, but if you have a custom Twrp installed, then use the second method.


How to flash MIUI 11 Update on Redmi or Xiaomi phone with Stock Recovery
Requirements:
>> Xiaomi MIUI 11 Recovery ROM: Download HERE.
  • Download the Recovery ROM from the link below and rename it to update.zip
  • Copy the downloaded file to the root of your phone's internal storage.
  • Turn off your phone.
  • Reboot to recovery mode by pressing both the Power button and Volume Up button together.
  • Navigate with your Volume up and down button, and use the power button for selecting an option.
  • Select install update.zip and the update process will begin.
  • Your phone will reboot once completed, but if it doesn't, just manually select reboot from the options.
If the two methods above doesn't work for you, then try updating to MIUI 11 by using a custom TWRP recovery. Below is full procedure and detailed guide.


How to flash MIUI 11 Update on Redmi or Xioami phones with Twrp Recovery
Requirements:
  • Unlocked Bootloader:  Click HERE for steps
  • TWRP Recovery: Download HERE
  • Xiaomi MIUI 11 Recovery ROM: Download HERE.
How to Install:
    • Make sure you have Twrp recovery installed or check the procedure HERE.
    • Download the Recovery MIUI 11 firmware for your Xiaomi phone the LINK above.
    • Copy the downloaded file to your phone's internal storage.
    • Turn off your phone.
    • Reboot to recovery mode by pressing both the Power up and Volume up button together.
    • wipe system, data and cache but it is not compulsory (You will loose your files if you do so).
    • Go back and click on install.
    • Select the recovery ROM file you downloaded earlier and swipe right to begin the installation process.
    • Once the installation is completed, your phone will reboot automatically.
    • In case it doesn't reboot, just manually select reboot from the options.
